Crazy people

For my fight club project, visualising distortion of subjective time which is a symptom of dissiocative identity disorder.

Hm, that sentence sounded smart. But I literally just woke up bout half an hour ago and thought "hm, lets make a crazy clock!"

Infectious luck

Got my light box all sorted :) just need to laser cutter into the lids n put on the apples then set up the lights inside... gonna take like a week MAX as laser cutter is booked for thursday. Dead happy!! This is a letter response to the pretty vandalism in the market place, which makes the trampy storage area look nice. done in about 2 hours:

It's not a U, the typeface i used was Hobo STD (lol, see what i did there) makes V's look like U's, but it's a V for vandalism.

Trying is fun!

Today I got like mad excited about getting to draw some really strange bread!

We got a new brief too, it looks funn!! Especially when compared to the Sense of Place project, in which i have made slot reels but am too scared to guilletine them up:

Also made a few plans on designs for the National Tea Collection which i am opening next week in sunny Stoke on trent, come on down!

God why can't ALL work be fun like drawing bread?! Nah I kidd, afterall if you can abandon kitchen ping pong tournaments with your flatties to do this stuff you must love it in some way or another!

Clipper Ship

I've noticed a pattern with the modules, every week i get nagged at for not doing enough work for one of them, and praised for doing loads in another. Really hard to balance it out, so im trying to spend a day on each this time not counting the weekend.... because it's gonna be one hell of a weekend.

Temptation

Was a bit surprised that the tutors really loved the idea of using an apple, now i just gotta find ways to adapt it to an arcade. Heres some logos i drew this morning in the style of symbols on a fruit machine reel;

They need neatening up but im a bit ill atm which means all i want to do is sleep a lot and listen to heavy metal loool. Done very little work this weekend, but i have thought of a few initial ideas of how to adapt apples to a arcade without slot reels. (slot reels say more casino don't you think?)

Bottom two i made out of glowsticks, then photoshopped them. I want to try using the bell effect on my slr to record movement of drawing with them, but that's gona take a little longer.

Friend or Foe

Uploading this now as i'm probably going to mess it up in a minute. Not sure whether to detail the tanks or keep them simplified, maybe replace the stars with a pawprint or add one on somewhere? Also not keen on the type might just remove that altogether... hmm decisions decisions lol. The animals are my 3 faves from the previous sketch; moose, badger and obviously the fox.

For the Potteries museum, the idea was that the museum tells history of humans and also animals, such as using still lifes of war related objects as well as animals been stuffed and positioned to show what they used to be doing when they were still alive (many of them were fighting/killing eachother, even rabbits!). There were signs near each animal showing whether or not it was tame i.e Friend or Foe. I also thought the butterflies with spots on their wings looked a lot like jet planes. There were many references to war in the stuffed animal section aswell as the human history section.

Weird.

Normally i can draw better than this whilst hungover, oh well. Its just a plan sketch for this weeks place project, we visited the pottery museum which was about war and dead animals. So i combined the two, since theyre both history in a way;

But i've got to fit it to the theme of craft not using any media i've already used... hmm

If a pictures worth a thousand words

Then what about 50 pictures made of words making a picture made of words that make pictures? :) This was for small scale project on the library.

Phew, im knackered after that...
Still got 36 tea leaf drawings to do! no wonder i've been sober for 4 DAYS now! Never felt so boring...

SAW 3D IS INCREDIBLE!
